All A4 guys?
All A4 guys?
I was just wondering if any of ya'll have had this problem. About a month ago i was messing around with a mustang and i left it in D and when my car shifted from 2nd to 3rd it hit the rev limiter and then shifted. Well the next day i checked my tranny fluid and it was a little low so i added some and then it fixed the problem it didnt hit the rev limiter again until last night it did the same thing. (its been about a month) What do ya'll think the problem is or is this normal? It doesnt bounce off the limiter it just hits it and then shifts. but its only hit it in 2nd gear. Thanks in advance

Do you have tuning with those mods? heads and cam mods needs major A4 tuning...the rev limiter will have to set at 6400
...your mod HP...why is it so low?

But I noticed I never hit the limiter in OD only in D. But of course I can just raise the limiter a bit.

The numbers you see are before the H/C install. Numbers to come.

Congrats on the mods...good luck on the times...
The 4L60E is VERY sensitive to low fluid conditions and will cause slippage if not completely topped off. If you notice that once every month you have to keep topping it off, you have a problem. Transmissions to not eat oil like engines can, so if you are losing some, it must be leaking somewhere. Get under there and check it out.
Two very common locations are the transmission pan, and the trans fluid dipstick tube. Check both of those.
