I would just get a lid, and do the free ram air mod.

Re: Airbox

I'd go with an SLP or MTI lid.

Haven't seen anything on the Fast Toys box. I'm also a little sceptical on the claims to produce a significant pressure increase at the intake. Let someone else experiment with it.... then look at their results.

Re: Airbox

My MTI lid is fine with me....

I would do the free ram air but I save all the old stuff off my car so I can return it to stock if I ever end up selling it, so I made myself not do it.

I noticed a little on the top end, but I didnt notice much on the bottom end. The thottle resonse got a little better.
I saw a dyno sheet where a guy gained 16 hp on the dyno from the Mti lid with just a full exhaust(w/headers) and a ported thottle body.

Hope that helps

Re: Airbox

Yeah MTI is a 5 minute drive from my doorstep, so thats why I chose them...plus it has a one year warranty, so if it breaks I can walk into somewhere and bitch about it...instead of mailing it somewhere or calling them.

It on Kirwood, just (and I mean JUST) south of Westheimer on Kirkwood.
If your going South it will be on the left. Its right behind AutoZone. (lol)

Theres always a lot of hot rods there so you cant miss it.

It was like $108.73 after tax and everything.

It looks good, fits nice and tight, and didnt break when I was roughing it up putting it on, so its a good lid in my book.

The plastic closely matches the stock radiator support, too so thats a plus.
