air pump removal

how hard is it to remove the air pump, and what is the best way to do it

why do ya wanna remove it? just for looks?

you will get an SES light if you pull the pump and don't have it programmed off the computer.

Good point - I should've mentioned that. That site says you won't get any codes, but may depend on the year. I pulled my air pump fuse to see what would happen and immediately threw a code. I'm going to wait until I get another tune before I remove mine.

i got ls1 edit on they way so that will take care of the code, i got mac mid lengths headers on my car and i'm tired of hearing the air check valves ticking, so they are gone, when edit gets here

It's very easy to pull. The pump and be pulled from the underside of the car, then pull the hosing and then the tubes going into the manifolds. You will need to block a vacumn line if the pull one of the solenoids.
