Talking air lid question #4873649873742397

Ok, just got this car. My first mod will be the lid.. I think..
See, I can imagine that they are all the same (pretty much right?), but I have only seen pics and never touched one so I have no idea.

What is really different on an aftermarket lid from the stock one?

From looking around I have seen the word "Direct-Flo", what is this?

SLP seems to have a Cold Air scoop. IS it worth it to get that?

Seeing as how most of the companies offer a K&N or similar filter, If I just get the K&N, would it be the same size for all the lids?

Ok.. that should hold me over for a few.. or maybe create a whole slew of new questions. I just turned 1100 miles. So, she is almost broken in.. (500 mile break in but I hear LS1's seem to be stronger when they are around 3-5K miles)

There are no baffles and it eliminates the whole air silencerr thing. They are worth every penny. Most are the same but I believe in a test MTI outflowed the others but all so close it wouldn't make much different. You'll just best to go with good looks. The filter is the same for all. Newer models have an extra filter that is located on a tube off the side, it will (should) be provided. I have the SLP
