hey guys, I am new to the LS1 and here is my ? I have the SLP air box, but do any lids on the lS1's have any sorta intake noise when hitting WOT (similar to the holly carbs when the secondaries open). My 69 screams for air when slamming the pedal....very impressive intake sounds. yea, I inderstand there is a big difference between tht two intakes...DA!

Yeah, your trying to compare apples and tofu...! Not sure what exactly your trying to get at, besides what you described, but your slp lid is fine and I don't think you can find any lid that will give you a measurable increase over what you have. After my slp lid was installed I noticed a fun whisling sound at idle that makes the car sound like it has a super charger, to the untrained ear anyway, but that's about it.

thanks. what i was getting at was all the 4bbl holleys have very impressive intake sounds when secondaries open....especially the 800cfm holly on the 302cid! was really more curious than enything else (since this is the first 4th gen ls1 i have had). wasnt planning on getting rid of the slp lid anyway.
