I'm interested in headers for my car and was curious if I needed to buy an off road y pipe in addition to the headers. I currently have the larger diameter y pipe from slp, will headers mate up to this pipe or do I need a different pipe. P.S. I will be deleting the cats.

 

you'll need a new y pipe

 

depends on the style header.

shorty headers will bolt up to the stock ...or in your case...the aftermarket ypipe. although shorty headers are not worth much on an ls1.

mid length or long tube headers will require a specific Ypipe.
