Where does the signal wire go for an aftermarket tachometer in a 98 trans am?

any reason why you want an aftermarket one in addition to the one in the dash already?

It's my buddy's car and he likes the way it looks. We got it installed yesterday, it is the white wire going into the pcm, pin 35, and has to be set to 4 cylinder mode.

Go to installuniversity.com or ls1howto.com and see how the shift light is wired. You'll tap into the same wire.
