here's my 2cents, i opted for the a4 because even though a stick is a little bit faster there is aways a chance, no matter how good of a driver you are or experienced witha stick, tat you could miss a gear. now the stick is going to make a faster run down the 1/4 and have a higher trap but that dosn't mean jack s--t in bracket racing which is where the challenge is at. for instance i raced a friend's 69 camaro which ran a 10.24 and i ran a 13.55 and i won because i dialed in 13.5 and he dialed in 10.175. my point is that if you want to bracket race at your local strip your best bet is the a4 because it is more consistent, by saying this i don't mean its impossible to be cosistent with a stick but it is alot more difficult than with an auto

thats true....but this guy seems like the everyday driver like the majority of the people here....most of the time taking their car on the stret and then the occasional track....when a 10 sec car pulls up to u on the street i dont think u have a chance with stik or auto....your screwed either way

Thumbs up

I have the Suncoast Creations SS hood on my Z28. I sold the airbox and stuff as it wouldn't fit with my nitrous setup. The ram-air looked alot less efficient than my current FTRA anyway... The hood looks good and is very light. I also think you should look at the Pro 5.0 shifter along with the B&M.

Personally I like the z-style hoods on Camaros. The ones w/ the nostrils up front like a WS6.

But either way, screw a new hood, I'd get some real performance mods instead. Hell, 1k? You could get a cam and valvetrain upgrades, and get it installed for that

I like the Z style hood and if I do decide to get a hood I'm going to go with that one. I think what I've decided to do is go with an A4 and convert with a shift kit. That way I get the best of both worlds. I won't get board driving and will have slightly better power and I think I can be relatively consistent with the kit. I live in an area with a lot of lights and downtown traffic so a clutch will get annoying. I'm basically going to have this car for everyday use plus 1 or 2 weekends a month at the track and the occasional bracket race, or any street races I can get. If any of you guys with shift kits or those without them for that matter could suggest a decent kit please do. Oh and Danziger can you give me a link so I can see some about the CAI you have. I assume it's a ram air set up that works with the Suncoast hood.

Hmmm...cam sounds like an idea as well. I don't know I just wanted a new look rather than the same old Z-28.

Yeah, go with the Ultra Z. IMO it would be much better both ways. Looks badazz, not very common, plus the ram-air is slightly more functional than the SS hood, since with the SS the inlet is in the middle of the hood, but with the Ultra Z it's at the front where the MAF and TB is. I'm not too certain with the anatomy of Camaros, but couldn't you get an airlid assembly like a TA? I dunno, I'm feeling kinda misplaced so I will go now

The Suncoast assembly with the hoods is the same for TA and Z28 I believe.
