Aftermarket Ram Air

Ok here's the deal. I'm going to get a 98/99 Z/28 near the end of August. This place Suncoast Creations makes aftermarket Ram Air. The hood and air box kit are 1k. I know for the performance I'll get that the cost isn't worth it. I wanted to get it for the look more than anything because Z/28's are pretty plain on the hood. My question is do you guys think I should do it or just go ahead and spend my money on something more worth while like a lid, Loudmouth, Vig 2800, and then just wait on the hood?

just get the hood no airbox....ss ram air sucks anyway

get a lid and whisper ram air....

dont bother with a loudmouth just get a cutout
and then get a bm ripper shifter if its gonna be a manual...which i suggest

The hood from suncoast isn't like regular ss hoods it actually is ram air and i think it looks good thats why i got an ss. I would go for the hood then get an exhuast and lid later.

Yeah the Suncoast Ram Air I'm looking at is actually designed more like Pontiac Ram Air (they have an SS one too). I know you can get an airbox package with the hood but I'm trying to decide if I should do that or a separate air package. Right now I'm torn between A4 and M6. I know both have their benefits but I thnk I'm leaning towards A4.

defitnly get m6 u will be bored as hell with it on the street....m6 doesnt lose as much power goin thru the drivetrain as an a4
and m6 has higher trap speeds ......yay higher trap .....but seriously on the street u will get bored with an auto

That's why I'm torn between the two. Boredom with an A4 but it's more consistent.

thats part of the fun though if you get an m6 then you'll have to teach yourself to become consistent. With an A4 all u do is press the gas pedal and you go....that is so boring to me and if I was looking for an f-body the m6 option would have to be on the car I was interested in.

Ok the B&M sounds like an awesome idea if it's what I think it is. I don't have a huge amount of knowledge on shifters so correct me if I'm wrong. Is the B&M a conversion race shifter basically where you shift with no clutch? Like a slapstick type shifter? I really dont know but it sounds like the best of both worlds if it is what I think it is.

Yeah I thought about what I was writing after I wrote it and realized I was thinking of a shift kit for an automatic so I figured it had to be just a better shifter. I read up on it and found more out.
