After Headers SES can't be removed
After Headers SES can't be removed
About a month ago I installed my Jet Hot LT Headers, the 02 extentions, were not included in the kit. So after putting the Headers on I later put the 02 extentions in, immediately removing the SES light. However, after a few weeks, the SES light came back on, look under the car and the extention on the left headers was burnt. So I replaced the extention with a new 3 feet extention allowing me to place the extention no where near the header. The SES remained on after the new extention, so went to AutoZone, ran the scan they said it was the O2's triggering the SES. But they deleted the code for me, SES light went off for a week, today started the car the freaking SES came back, how do I get rid of this light. Will the O2 Sims remove it for sure, b/c I hate this light. Also I pretty sure there's no way the new extention could have been damaged the way I positioned it.

Re: After Headers SES can't be removed
When I put on my headers I was able to drive for about a month before my SES came on. After checking and rechecking everything twice I decided to pull my O2's out to check them and I discovered that I had accidently got anti-seize on them and when I checked with my local garage they said after time the chemicals in the anti-seize cause the sensor to malfunction. Just thought I would pass along some info. Also I bought a scanmaster, the best tool for the $$$ since that is what I used to clear the code. Good luck!

If you are going to get the PCM tuned and have those sensors programmed out don't bother with the sims, it would be a waste of money. What I would do would be cut the harness of the old O2 sensors that you won't be using anymore and plug them in just to keep the connector from getting hogged out.

Which code are you referring to
Re: After Headers SES can't be removed
if you have a scanner or take it to a shop, they plug it into the diagnostic port under the dash and it will throw a code like po314 or something of that nature. thats what hes looking for.
