A4 to M6

I was just wondering if anybody has done a A4 to M6 tranny swap in a LS1. Reason asking is I hate my A4. M6 is so much more fun on the street. If you have done it, got any info on how, and where did you get your tranny from.

Cool

Well,I'll try to discourage you first
-Decreases re-sale value
-M6 is slower at the track
-M6 is annoying in traffic
-M6 needs a clutch replacement every year or so
-You can drive an auto 1 handed
-A lot of work
-$$$$$$$
Ok,now if you are still determined you can try:

or

or

Good luck with whatever you end up doing!

It's certainly possible, but why bother? You'd save yourself A LOT of hassle, and maybe even some money, if you sell your car and just buy an M6 Z-28.

In the long run, you'll end up loving your A4, especially when you start to do a lot of mods. I sure as hell wouldn't trade my A4 for an M6.

The answer about should you swap depends on a couple things. If you plan to road race you should go with a manual, but if you like to drag then you should keep your auto. If you decide to swap trannies dont. Sell the car and buy an m6 car. I have a friend that swapped trannies in a 98 ls1 and he spent over $4,000 on just the parts. And thats b/c he got a great deal on the tranny and owns his own shop so he got the other parts whole sale and did the labor himself. He said if he were to do it again he would just buy an m6.
