99 vs 01 Header design

Quick question. I may have the opportunity to pick up some slightly used headers off of a 99 TA. I had originally thought they were off an 01 TA and today found out the correct year. I have an 01 SS and I notice that many headers have seperate part numbers for the two model years. I know that the 01's with the LS6 intake do not have an EGR system so if they have that provision I could block it off, but are there any other differences concerning clearance or other issues. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Re: 99 vs 01 Header design

the reason they'd have 2 different part numbers is the 01-02 cars had no EGR system, therefore no EGR provisions on the headers. The actual designs don't vary from year to year aside from this.

Just fab up an EGR block off plate, or buy a kit.

Thanks guys. I actually started a welding class today so the fab shouldn't be a problem. As always, I appreciate the help.

i did the opposite way around. i put 00-02 headers on the 99 formula. you'll also have to twist your AIR tubes 90* to get them to mount to the headers as well.
