Post 99 Trans Am Vs 97 WS6

I have just bought my trans am and have installed a slp whisper lid with K&N. My car is an A4 with with 3.23's. The WS6 in totally stock with an A4 not sure about the gears. I was just wondering what you guys think about how close this swould be? This Ws6 has also raced a stock 98 or 99 z28 and every time they race who ever gets the whole shot wins by a car.

P.S I am still adjusting to my car I use to have a 97 v6 camaro. I am stilling getting use to the power. I wanted to know when you lauch do you comeoff the line around what rpm and do you floor it or do you give about 3/4 throttle off the line so it doesnt spin. I have the traction control switch in my car by the way. Everytime I have ever stopped in my car and just hit it i will leave a patch about 15 feet long. I know that cant be a good thing when racing.

Just don't spin out of the hole, I've raced plenty of 97 Z's or TAs that have mods and as long as you don't get killed out of the hole, when you hit 40-50, you will just start pulling bad.
I raced a 97 TA with CAI, exhaust and some other mods, I spun baddddd outta the hole and we were dead even at ~40 then I pulled hard. I beat him by 4 tenths. And that was when I first got my TA, bone stock.

I am talking about racing a WS6. I tought they were rated at around 300 or 305 hp that year.? But you still think I will have em by about2 cars with just the mods I have? Also help on me lauching my car would be nice...like should I floorit off the line when I have the traction control off orjust give it about 3/4 thorrle so I dont spin?

Wink

Yeah a buddy of mine was in town about 2 months ago. He had a 97 Z28 with Ram/Air, Borla exhaust, BBK Throttle body, Jet chip(thats what he said, i think BS) GMAF, M6. Now I thought oh this should be close, he might beat me. Well he lost!!!! I beat him on every race we had. Pulled 1-4 cars depending on how well I launched the car. The worst or funniest part is I had some crappy tires. Falkens with about 30k miles on them and I had done a bunch of burnouts and basically killed any tread these tires had. So with a stock TA and bald tires I beat him easy. You should have no problem. Just powerbrake it to about 1500rpm and launch from there easing into the throttle so you don't get too much wheel spin. NO problem. NOW go race him and beat him!!!!!
