I was driving my car to get some parts for the stangs fuel pump and all of a sudden I thought I got a leak in one of my ET streets. I jump out of the car and look and no leaking tire?? Hmmm so I shut the car off to listen and it goes away. I was like uhh ohhh. So i noticed when I turn left and right that the sounds goes away for a brief moment. My guess is its swishing the gas around and quieting the pump. I have over a 1/4 tank of gas. Just put in 94 Sunoco that put me at half tank with plans to go to the track. No N20 pulls till i know what the fuel pressure is doing What would cause this? Is this a sign of the pump on its way out? SHould I be looking for something? No leaks etc that i can find. Its definitely something in the tank something else it could be? What internal fuel pump should i get? HELP ASAP!!!!!

 

Replace it, mine did the same thing. I had it replaced under warranty before it had a chance to go out completely.

What you're hearing is the "sock filter" around the intake of the pump. It's collapsed and making the pump work doubletime to put out fuel. Your symptoms sound exactly like what mine did.
