80mm TB or Ported stock TB?

It looks like the 80mm may offer 2-4 more rwhp. It costs a little more, but if I am going to seek out the mighty hp, then is it a wise decision?

I spoke to the guy at Thnder Racing the other day and he told me that there ported throttle body was real close to 80MM for less than half, I think it is $150.00 Plus your old one.

That's the place I was looking too. Did he mention whether or not the ported one was an original that was ported or from a different source? Reason being, if I am going to put in an 80mm, and take a chance on getting a warranty voided, then at least I have the original to put in before taking it in for service.

In My Opinion with stock heads, manifolds, and valve train your just wasting money that could be used to make your car faster. The throttle body isn't a bottleneck.
Now after a cam swap with headers, or heads and headers then it's a different ballgame.
This is coming from a guy that has run 111.84 mph with a stock MAF with screen and stock throttle body. Again this is IMHO.

Heads and valve train granted, but I was told that the idea of going from an ls6 to anything else is also not wise, due to the fact it is probably the best one I could have in there anyway. I am considering the exhaust manifold as I write.

Gearslammer, I took it that it is a stock throttle body just cnc ported and polished. And I also agree that it isnt bottlenecking the cars performance but about the warranty I wouldnt worry about it voiding the warranty, I dont think anyone at a dealership would even notice it.
