6.0L shortblock

I was wondering if there was any possible problems with building up a 6.0 shortblock; I dont have the money for a resleeved block or stroker motor, but was looking to build something to replace my 5.3 in the next year or two with more cubes. Are there any weaknesses or potential problems with the 6.0 that I need o be aware of? All I want to do is use the block and rotating assembly...

Re: 6.0L shortblock

SLP is using this block to build 402 strokers, so they must be good.

Get the December issue of Car Craft. Decent info on all engines in the LS1 family, including SLP's 402. I was surprised when they said the truck LQ9 6.0s had the same head port design as the LS6, just with bigger chamber for lower compression. So scoring a complete engine out of a wrecked truck might be a good starting point for a project.

But I wonder how much weight an iron block would add when replacing an aluminum LS1 block?

I think the iron block weighs like 50 pounds more than the aluminum block. I can live with the additional 50 pounds for the performance gain.
