If you are talking about your '85 305,ALOT of $$, also wrong section. If you have a LS1, well, what cha got now? Heads and cam w/ LT will get you that.

hello--check my sig. my #'s are with my cutout closed and through stock exhaust. with it open i would have been close to 400. and i spent under $2k to get it there--paying for cam to be installed and tuned at a good price. my cam is small so it's all in the tune. and HP tuners was used.

To reach 400 will need; All basic boltons

Long Tube Headers $800
CutOut $50
Lid $100
Aggressive Cam $900 for a package
Z06 Intake Manifold $450
And a good tune

Should put you right around 400

Thats better, a 305 would be MUCH harder than your 2001 TA! You have the LS6 intake already, no need to spend $ there.

Ok now that i got that question out of the way heres another one, maybe 2 i dont know lol, would the stock drivetrain handle 400 no problem? or would i have to beef it up my car is equipped with the traction control (dunno if they all are) but doesnt have the button to turn it off. Idk if i wanna know how to turn it off without the switch anyway i cant afford tires and the car launches pretty nice with the traction control lol

With the right cam, heads, and Tb,and headers and exhaust and a good dyno tune you can reach 4-425RWHP.
You will need a rear end and a clutch will follow the upgrade shortly.

Aggressive Cam $900 for a package (no need for aggressive.. but thats up to you on how streetable and how lopey you want it..check thunderracing.com for prices. they have been good to me..)
Z06 Intake Manifold $450 (AKA LS6 Intake.. as in.. already on your car.. 2001-2002 came with it stock)
And a good tune - this is one tha fluctuates.. get you car dyno tuned and voila!
I do suggest you get your car baseline dynoed soon before you put on mods to get an idea of what you are needing to add.. and always remember, the more power you add the more suspension you will need to keep it on the ground..

I dont mean to sound harsh, but misinformation is a crime.

Should put you right around 400
Keep in mind this guy has huge tires and no power.. so lets fix this info quick..

Lid, headers, cam/valvetrain, cutout and a dyno tune will get you there.

Re: 400hp at the wheels? realistic builds and cost?

Thank God for Psycho to add those truly insightfull comments.

First off, 800 for the LT is a ball park number, you could spend anywhere from $550 to $1300 plus labor, depending on if you want the y-pipe and cats. $800 is only a baseline number inorder to give him an idea about how much it might cost. So hows 800 pricey when 1700 could be spent on a complete kit with install.

When I say aggressive cam I mean in the range of 224-230, not an extreme cam 232+, aggressive compared to the stock cam.

Z06 Intake Manifold $450, wow is that what an Z06 intake is called an LS6 intake, thanks for telling me never would have known that. Anyway thought he said 2000 WS6, thats my bad, however if you are going to be doing mods to your car, the first thing you should know is whats in it already.

Ands for the tune you don't really need to get a car dyno tuned before the mods, pointless really, unless its used and dont know if someone did any mods beforehand.

You didn't sound harsh just a little obtuse and presumptuous, as always.

Keep in mind this guy has alot of opinions and post with no merit or worth.
