315 on 01 ss

I just put a set of 17" x 11" American Racing Torque Thrust II with 315's on the back of my car. I did some banging on the fender well and I noticed that the bump stop on the passenger side is close to the inside of the tire ( about 1/2"). I also noticed that when I had my car on jack stands with the weight off of the rear end the bump stops were hitting the tires. I took the bump stops off and have not put them back on yet. I was wondering if
1. Is 1/2" enought room for the tire to clear
2. Should I grind material off of the bump stops
3. Do I need to get my fenders rolled or flaired
4. Is there a way that I can have my car on jack stands without my tires hitting the bump stops
5. Do I need the stops on my car in the first place
are there any other questions or concerns that I might not know about thank you

I'm sorry I can't give you any input but I'm glad you asked the question because I plan to put the same rims on my 02 Z when the stock tires need to be replaced. What size did you go with on the front, or did you do the same size all around? Have you taken any pictures yet?

Re: 315 on 01 ss

1. Under normal driving conditions, yes.
2. Yes.
3. If you think you might have some tire/fender contact, then I suggest rolling the fenders - much easier than getting them flaired..
4. Put the jack stands under the axle.
5. Yes.
good luck,
Shane
