This may be a dumb question... but I've never heard of this before. Over the weekend I wanted to show off a little bit and was going to burn my tires a little off the line. It was awesome in first gear, but as soon as it got to the shift point, it's like the trans stalled... revs went way down and I almost didn't move... then all the sudden it shot out like somebody had kicked me in the ***... is this normal? I've got an A4 by the way... so it's not driver ignorance, I hope...

 

sounds to me like it was just the lag between shifts...

and when it finally caught you had traction and it gave you a proper launch...

 

either that or your having tranny problems, lets hope not.

 

Torque managment rears its ugly head yet again.
