228/228 cam on my car with my current mods .

2000 z28 with aftermarket exhaust , 3.73 gear's , slp ram air , lid , smooth bellows .

I was thinking ofr puttin a 228/228 cam on . How much power would i be makin with my mods . Id figure id get the hardest and most expensive install outta the way before headers , ls6 intake , throttle body etc .

Anyway what kinda power would i be makin ?

A cam like that would have an RPM range of around 2300-8000.

You need to take into account what it'd be like driving something like that. Remember your red-line .

I've got a built LS6 that can go up to around 9,000 RPM's with a 222/224 566/568 112 LSA. It's just about perfect for my RPM range. If you want to take it up to RPM's like that, at least upgrade to hardened pushrods (they proned to intense bending at high-RPM's, one of the first parts to go).

I'd say get headers first. Or your just going to be choking your engine.

9,000 RPM for a 224 cam? are you nuts?

A 224 shouldn't have to go past 6,800

A FMS cam that is 228/228 .591/.591 with a 114 LSA has a powerband of 2,200-6,800 RPM

I would get headers before doing a cam of that size though.

That cam won't run worth a darn without headers.

Well not all cams are created equal. There are many facets of cam design.

Back to the original question. Without headers and LS6 intake I am not sure what you would put out, but I am going to guess with a tune 345-360RWHP in a M6? I have the TSP 288R and made 388 through the muffler, with LS6 intake, LT, ORY. Headers should would be nice before a cam though. Then you can get the car tuned with all the other bolt ons.
