I know that many of you are anxious to see how the 2002 model year will
turn out in terms of numbers and percentages. Please note on the attached
that these numbers are TENTATIVE and theoretically could change. (I'm very
confident that they will not, however..........)

Please feel free to share this information with your Camaro
friends..............

The following are Camaro build counts for the 2002 model year -- Total
Camaro Plant Build at Ste. Therese Assembly.

(NOTE: These are tentative figures and they should not change unless there
are unforseen circumstances such as component shortages, work stoppages, or
other circumstances beyond control.)

A total of 41,777 Camaros were built for worldwide distribution..

8,083 were convertibles

11,191 were SSs.

13,614 were Z28 or B4C Special Service

29,034 were Automatics -- 69.5%

10,188 were 6-speeds ? 24.4%

2,555 were 5-speeds ? 6.1%

Colors:

#1 81U Bright Rally Red 10,329 24.7%

#2 41U Onyx Black 8,426 20.2%

#3 11U Light Pewter Metallic 5,914 14.2%

#4 13U Sebring Silver 4,907 11.7%

#5 28U Navy Blue Metallic 4,674 11.2%

#6 10U Arctic White 3,805 9.1%

#7 71U Sunset Orange Metallic 1,875 4.5%

#8 44U Monterey Maroon Metallic 1,834 4.4%

There were no "1LE" Camaros produced in the 2002 model year at Ste.
Therese Assembly..SLP Engineering offered this option as a "second sticker"
option....

24,805 Camaros were Z28 or SS (had LS1 Engine) which is 59.4% of build.

16,972 Camaros were V-6 with the 3800 engine which is 40.6% of build

2,968 Camaros were built with NG1 Northeast Emissions (7.1%)

33,180 Camaros were built with FE9 Federal Emissions (79.4%)

5,224 Camaros were built with YF5 California Emissions (12.5)

33,580 Camaros were ordered as "Stock" orders by dealers

5,951 Camaros were ordered as "Sold" orders by dealers (customers special
ordered their Camaro)

2,246 Camaros were ordered as "Fleet" by dealers (for Police, federal
government, and large business/rental/concerns.)

2,412 V-6 Camaros were ordered with Y87 Package, of which 360 were "sold"
orders

4,985 Camaros were ordered with the Y3F Sport Appearance package, of which
457 were "sold" orders.

443 Camaros were ordered with the Y3B SLP Rally Sport Package, of which 29
were "sold" orders.

11,191 Camaros were ordered with the "WU8" SS Performance and Appearance
Package, of which 3,662 were "sold" orders ? and 63 were "fleet" orders.

Total Camaro Interior Counts:

11,461 were built with 19B Ebony "Congo-Lexington"Cloth

16,276 were built with 192 Ebony "Supersoft - Sierra" Leather

3,367 were built with 193 Ebony/Pewter "Supersoft-Sierra" Anniv. Spec.
Leather

3,767 were built with 522 Neutral "Supersoft - Sierra" Leather

6,754 were built with 92B Medium Gray "Congo-Lexington" Cloth

117 were built with 194 Ebony Prado Leather (Europe and Russia only)

35 were built with 524 Neutral Prado Leather (Europe and Russia only)

208 Convertibles were built with 10T white convertible top

6,924 convertibles were built with 41T black convertible roof

951 convertibles were built with 56T neutral convertible roof.

28,567 Camaros were built with "UK3" Leather wrapped steering wheel with
duplicate radio controls

8,866 Camaros were built with "U1S" 12 disc remote CD changer

30,160 were built with "C49" Rear Defogger. . .only 72.2%

19,865 were built with "NW9" Traction Control.

I hope you will find these figures helpful. I'm sorry that the numbers
cannot be broken down further.

I just wanted to know how rare the SOM cars are!! I believe most of them are SS's. My dad worked at a pontiac dealer and he estimated that the SOM Z28's are going to be one of the most rare of this build series. I'm shooting for collector car plates, WOOHOO Emissions exempt!!!!!

hehe....my 6-speed base Z is more rare than an SS. Cost less, too!

Hey gillbot, I think your Dad is right!! SOM Z28's are kinda rare. Anyway to find out the total produced? I have seen SOM SS's but not one SOM Z28's here in NY. 11K SS's, so much for rarity!!

Looking at the build numbers, it is hard to tell how many of the SOM Z28 T-Top cars were built. I was hoping the SOM would be the bottom color but hey, 2nd to the bottom ain't to shabby I see a few SOM SS's but I have yet to see another SOM Z28 car around. Seems like everyone opted for the SS car since it's the last year.
