i have a 2001 trans am ws6, with 40k..just last week out of nowhere when i started the car and put it into gear my engine feels like its choking, i cant accelerate because it feels like its dying... i replaced my spark plugs and amy fuel filter, what else could be the problem??? after it runs a while the car drives fine, and the it happens again..it feels like its stuterring..can anyone help me out?

 

check to make sure all the spark plug boots are connected properly.. i had a similar problem right after my header install my #8 spark plug boot kept slipping off the plug and of course it was the hardest to get at.. so id check there first

 

doesnt explain why it works better later, but it could be a fuel pump problem.

 

Has anything been done to it recently or before the changes happened? Start it up at night (as dark as possible) and pop the hood. Look for sparks indicating a bad connection somewhere (i.e. between coil and wire or wire and plug). This is somewhere you can start anyways.. Does it happen EVERY time you start it up? Or just first start of the morning?

i think its my fuel pump, its gotten better now...im gonna have the fuel pressure checked. it happens when i leave the car sitting for a while. its feels like its stutering, but im takin it in to my mechanic...thanks for all your help guys, i appreciate it.
