Question 2001 SS question

I was wondering if there was anyway to get a T/A or formula rear bumper on a 2001 SS. I dont like how all the Camaros do not have a rear bumper that the exhaust fits into. It is just there. So i was just asking. Thanks

you could.. but it would prolly look like *** since the TA bumper hangs down low to match the TA ground effects.

just wont be right.

I understand what you mean Phantom, but do you know if there is any kit that would look good with a rear bumper for a camaro (any year 93+)?

And Stangdstryer, i have seen those center exhaust setups by SLP and i dont really like the way it looks. i actually like the quadtip exhausts with the fit bumper. But thanks

oh yeah and Phantom, i mainly mean the Formula rear, cause i am looking into a B&B Triflo exhaust.

And by quadtips Stangdstryer, i mean like the quads on a B&B.

Exclamation

Look into RK Sport (or the like), they make a couple of rear bumper covers with exhaust provisions.

All i can tell u is don't do it. It doesn't look right. It looks good on T/A's b/c the entire body kit is made like that. The ONLY exhaust cut-out bumper that looks halyway decent on an SS is the SLP unit (which I also personaly think looks a bit strange). As far as RK sport goes, when looking to them your better off getting an entire bodykit, aside from just the rear bumper. I have a 2001 SS i run Corsa Cat-back with quad-tips just as they would sit stock and it looks amazing. IMO the exhaust cut-out bumper just isn't Camaro.

Hooker Long-Tube Headers, replace the stock exhaust manifolds. Allow for much better exhaust flow, and are good for about 10-15 RWHP from what I understand, possibly better. A mod that is definately worth the money, and on my "to do" list for the spring.

Nope a Firebird/Trans Am rear bumper will NOT fit a Camaro you will have to replace the tail lights you will have the Pontiac in the rear.

Well you are correct that Headers Flow better then Stock manifolds but the real benefit you will see with Headers is in the Upper Range RPM not in the Mid and Low End!! You will get the HP gain when it comes to High RPMs, no benefit in Low and Mid... I am waiting for Sanderson to release the QP headers for 98 - 02 Camaros! I would choose these headers becuase they give the power throughout the Whole Powerband rather then at the Upper Range !!

Oh alright thanx yall. Do you have a pic of your exhaust 2001 LS1 SS? I would like to see how it looks, because i see the SLP exhaust with quad tips and dont like the way that looks. And you are right the center exhaust exits on the other SLP are odd. But i would like to see your exhaust. Thanks

My scanner is down so it will be a hile for the pics, but my tips are custom. An older gentleman near me does work like that and i had him make me a set. If u want the info contact me. The best way i can describe it is the 1998 (first LS1 WS6) exhaust tips. Im sure u can find a link to those on this site.

The formula setup is like the camaro setup.. only the TA has the hand downs on either side of the exhaust
