2001 Ss

Hey. I have found a 2001 SS with 22,500 miles on it for $22,997. Is this a good deal and is there a way to tell if it is a real SS? Any advice would be a great help. Thanks,
Phillip Mccullough

Sounds good to me and look on the passenger door inside it will have a sticker that says what slp options it has and you can tell if it is an ss there.

The sticker on the passenger's side is optional, not ever SS had it. Mine is an authentic SS, but it has no Y2Y (SLP) Options ... so no passenger's side door sticker. Look on the driver's side door, it has an RPO code sheet. Look for code WU8. If it has it, it is a real SS, if not ... What other options does it have? That will help us figure if it is worth it.

Well, t-tops, leather, 6 speed, ans the H on the shifter I assume means Hurst, traction control button. Sound real?
Thanks,
Phillip

Try and talk them down on the price some if you can. My brother just got an 01 SS Navy Blue, tan leather interior, t-tops, Hurst shifter, traction control, power everything, 6 speed, etc. with 20K miles for $17,000 from a dealer , but he thought it was a real good price.

I picked up a 2002 SS with 1500 miles a month ago for $24,000......$22,000 might be a tad high..... Still not a bad price at all.

An easy way to tell if its an SS is to check the sticker in the driver side door jam and see what size tires it says to mount. If it says 255/16's its a Z and if it says 275/17's its an SS.

Depending on the condition, 23+k would not be a bad price for an SS with 22k miles. We're not talking about buying a Saturn. We are talking about a car that is highly coveted amongst Camaro lovers. If you wouldn't even consider paying 23k for this car then you probably don't want one. If you think 23k is too expensive then you can't afford one. Some people will respond to your post and tell you about the better deal that they got but don't let that put you off. Most people don't get great deals, they get decent deals. Yeah, they're may be a better deal out there but it's going to get tougher and tougher to find one with low mileage. You're not getting ripped off if you pay a couple of grand more for a car that you really want.
