1998 vs. 2002

Are there any apperance differances between the 1998 Z28 and the 2002 Z28? Interior? I know the 2002 has more power, but how much, and how did it get it? Thanks, Ryan

Those were the biggest changes.

I know 99+ have a bigger gas tank and in 00 steering wheel radio controls became a option.

Which is a bummer as I could have bungee-corded down stuff to those anchors - like a cooler, or similar sized object.

That, and the missing steering wheel controls - I shoulda bought an '00.

Actually, I have heard that the '00's got the best cam of all the years, although they eliminated the header style manifolds that the '98 's & '99's got.

'01's & '02's seem to be the piston slap cars - '98's lose oil pumps on occasion, but get a functioning temp gaugeas well as larger injectors.

'02's have the 35th Ann badging on the instrument panel.

If I remember correcty, '98 thur '00 HP for Z28/T/A was 305 - 320 on the SS & WS.6.

'01 & '02 were rated 310 "base" & 325 SS/Ram Air, with an option for 345 HP on the SS - probably the 'Hawk as well.

'01 & '02 got the LS6 intake and the truck cam, as well as no EGR.

Ah - decisions, decisions.

Enjoy !

Britt

Correct me if i'm wrong but i think the 01-02's have the same or bigger injectors as the 98's. The 99-00's are the smallest.

nobody mentioned body colored mirrors in 00-02 as opposed to black 98-99 units.

In reality, the LS1 makes at least 330 HP.

I've heard of 01-02 cars dynoing as much as 320 RWHP. I believe most of the 98-99 cars were between 290 and 300.
