running the engine at a cooler temperature will allow it to run more efficient (to a point), help decrease possible detonation due to high cylider temps, and since the engine is running cooler it will decrease the hp lose to to temp.

so worth $50....yeah

better yet do the cheap mod to modify your stock stat. havn't done it myself but it seems like a good idea

I feel the cooler stat is worthless if you can't get the fans to come on sooner, you need both to make it work properly. JMO

oh god not this again...

if you are driving around town or on the highway what the hell difference does it make if you're fans come on lower? they are not even gonna be on..

YOU DO NOT NEED TO REPROGRAM YOUR FANS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF LOWER THERMOSTATS

the only time you will benefit from lower fans combined with the stat is when you are sitting in the staging lanes at the track, at idle and not moving.

technically you would benefit from the fans being on lower when sitting in heavy traffic, but in that situation do you really care if you are making 5 more hp?

i enjoy the benefits of my 160 stat everyday...and i can count on one hand the number of times i've had my fans come on in the past couple months...

Hurricane, it makes more of a diff for us down south,I think. Your sig dont show where you are at, but lower temp also will make your internals last longer.

couldnt get that part number to pull up. probably just me. but did see on tbyrne.com a preditor edit w/ choice of 160 or 180 thermostat for $429. might go with that.

i would just get the stat, the predator tuner is better than hypertech but still not really worth the $$ in my opinion.

although you will benefit more since you are an auto and can adjust the shift points and firmness.

OK i'm a dumbass...click on the link to "160 stat" iin my signature...takes you right to it...lol
