160* thermostat

I'm away at college and got a phone call from my dad. He installed a 160* thermostat. But when he turned the car on he said all the car was pumping out was cold air when he turned the heat on nothing at all. Could this have anything to do with the hpp3(install unsuccessful said flash memory corrupted). Is there a way out of this? Or do I have to go back to the dealer and get the pcm flashed? some one please help.

With a lower temperature thermostat it takes longer for the car to warm up.

If the flash memory on your PCM is corrupted, that's a bad thing and you may have to take it in. Call Hypertech, they may have a solution.

As for slow heating up because of the cold...I drove my car up to Reno, NV over Christmas and it got down to negative it's really fuc*ing cold out and it warmed up just fine...

The car warms up at the same speed, it just won't warm up to the same temp. Maybe your dad didn't let the engine warm up fast enough to get some warm air flowing through the heating system. It's gonna take awhile with the 180 thermo or the 160 if you just let the car sit and warm up at idle.
