my friend just purchased a 02 ss we drove 7 hours home it ran great we drove it to town once we got home and oil pressure guage flickered but still stayed good pressure lilled it at home went back out to put it in the garage NO OIL PRESSURE we pulled the sending unit no oil comes out we pulled the oil filter no metal no oil comes out when u turn it over the car has 44,000 miles on it is this common or wtf we only have 48 hours to return the car for mecanical issues please help

 

I'd take it back and make them fix it.

 

Did you pull the dip stick and check to see if it had oil in it?
There's no reason that an LS1 would drop all it's oil pressure like that.

I'd take it back. On a wrecker or a trailer and ask them to reimburse the towing fee.

 

Id drive it as far as you can on it until it blows up. Then make them buy you a new engine.

 

You need to realize that OK is a "buyer beware" state.

 

Check oil level, also were there any mods recently done to the engine such cam swap or anything that involved removal of the oil pump?

It sounds very strange that it would have oil pressure and then just dissapear like that.
