Z28 vs. Inifiniti G35

Me = 1997 Z28 Auto 133,000 miles Borla exhuast, G2 intake, K & N air filter, new spark plugs

Him = 2003 Infiniti G35 Coupe 6-Speed 25,000 miles Stock except he complete took of his muffler, so he just has the raw exhaust....

who would win in a 1/4 mile?

On the highway at night with little traffic?

Re: Z28 vs. Inifiniti G35

As I mentioned in your other posting, I think it will come down to a drivers race.

Try the track and not at night on the highway, much safer that way.

If both drivers know what they are doing, I'd go with the Z in both cases 1/4 or from a roll.

The Z will get a big jump on the launch, and should be able to walk away very slowly after that. Don't miss any shifts.

Re: Z28 vs. Inifiniti G35

What gears you got? If it's 2.73's & he's got a M6.......could be closer then the others are thinking. My buddies the manager of the local Infiniti dealer and I drove a 04 with a 6 speed......it was REAL quick! A skilled driver could give you a run. They have 298 hp/260 tq and weigh 3435 lbs. Motor Trend got a 14.23 @ 99.4 Mph. They can't drive to save their lives! LOL I'd bet that's a 13.8 car with a competent driver who doesn't have some Corporate guy from Infiniti looking over his shoulder making sure they don't hurt their little car! Plus, maybe he picked up a .10 or so with the muffler delete! lol Not starting a Flame fest here, just stating some facts & a personal experience in one. Peace

Re: Z28 vs. Inifiniti G35

my mom had G35 coupe(trade it in for the 01 Z)it was slow, i had it on the freeway and i had a hard time getting pass 135mph, it feel flat on its face around 120mph, they dont have any real power until about 3500 rpm, before that it feels like a honda off the line, even with the traction control off i had a hard time getting it to burnout, or even swing dounts, Your Z will kill the G35 off the line and he wont even be close on the freeway. trust me there not as fast as everyone thinks.

Re: Z28 vs. Inifiniti G35

I raced a few of them, and drove one they seem to be almost but not quite as fast as a 99 and up Mustang GT. You should take him no problem I would think.

Re: Z28 vs. Inifiniti G35

In a race, the Z28 wins...

I'd still rather own the G35 coupe... That's one sweet ride!

For now, I'll hold on to my slow Z28 convertible...
