Exclamation Need Help, Possible Cooling Problem???

ok, i have a '95 z28, and when i drive around town (just cruising at slow speeds) the temperature gauge seems to go unusually high. i thought maybe it was a fan not kicking in or somthing, so i put the code reader on and nothing seems to be malfuntioning. the guage never reaches the "danger zone", but it does get up there. i was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so, what the problem might be.

thanks

Could be a dirty/clogged radiator, or maybe a sticking thermostat

how hot? Keep in mind that our cars run prettty hot. Average temp driving is 190-195* and upto 235* at stop lights

Did you bleed the air after replacing the thermostat?

Re: Need Help, Possible Cooling Problem???

That's normal behaviour if you have the stock tune.

No fans turn on until 226. High fan comes on at 235 so it will get that hot if you let the car sit for a while.

Get a tune so the fans come on earlier or a manual fan switch.
