Z28 Fiberglass hood

I have been looking for a stockish looking Z28 bolt on hood for my Camaro. Its for weight reduction purposes. I don't want an SS replica hood. Not really into the cowl induction hoods but will entertain the idea.

Anyone know some places I could look? Pics? Thanks

Verify you will have a weight reduction with you new hood. I opted for a SS replica hood, it weighs within a pound or so of the stock hood.

Have you check VFN? They sell a lot of light weight "stockish" parts.

I'll move this to "General....." because its not an "engine" question.

One of my neighbors has a cowl style hood that is only 1 1/2" tall that starts a little wider at the bottom and gets wider as it goes up the hood toward the cabin. Looks like it belongs from the factory. I'll see if I can get some pics and the make/model.

I thought Harwood also made fiberglass stock style hoods.

VFN does make a stock type hood - no scoops or cowl induction. I emailed them asking to see a picture, but they didn't have one.

Thanks again. Any idea on the weight of the stock Z28 hood?

I saw a carbon fiber hood this weekend at Carlisle. It was very, very cool looking. The dealer said it weighed about 20 pounds. He said they are flying off his shelf. The price was around $800 including shipping. You have to remove your hood springs to use this hood.

I don't think they have a web site and I did not get a picture. He is going to the Truck show and thre Custom & Style show if you are nearby.

Here is the shop contact. It is on the northeast side of DC:
