to Z or not to Z?
Re: to Z or not to Z?
I found a site to research the RPO codes.. and found out some kewl stuff. It is coded (and has) fog lights, power windows, doors, 6-speed, 3.42 posi rear.. does anyone know what all the B4C package includes? A friend of mine had a B4C white Z, but his was an A4. Where might I find some production numbers on the 94 B4C cars.. I saw someone had a 95 for sale.. and he said there were only 300 of the 95's made. Not that I want to sell mine, but it would be kewl to see how rare it might be...thanks. Dwayne
Re: to Z or not to Z?
I have the 20K mile B4C for sale (for the serious collector). My ad lists what B4C package includes. I'll bump it for you in the 4 sale section.
Do a search on B4C in google or yahoo - that's where I found various info about how many were made, etc..

Re: to Z or not to Z?
Mine was like yours, except it had one emblem on the rear bumper, all black. So it was black on black. Nothing on the glovebox or anything. VIN shows a Z28... No T-Tops, had everything else, six speed car.
Re: to Z or not to Z?
I could swear that the B4C car was a stripped down version of the z28 that state police departments used. As far as what I have always read its nothing super special...The car MSRP was $20,47..

Re: to Z or not to Z?
My B4C isn't stripped down by any means. It has rear defogger, power windows/locks/keyless entry/power driver seat/cruise control/suspension package/heavy duty oil cooling/z rated tires/3.42 posi/a/c/6 speed/cd player/fog lamps/140 amp alt/ these are all RPO coded options on it..
the only things I can tell that it doesn't have is leather interior and t-tops
I have no idea how many were made, but I tend to believe that there weren't a whole lot..especially ones that never saw service.

Re: to Z or not to Z?
as you can tell by my post.. I am still unable to find any numbers on my car....help! I am pretty good at finding stuff on net, but 1994 numbers are eluding me. Any ideas?

668 1994 B4C's -
http://www.camarosource.ca/main_new_...police_pkg.htm
Take a look:
1994
There were no RS model Camaro's in 1994 so the B4C was a non-Z28 with basically the same 275HP LT1 V8 engine powerplant. The 1994 B4C option cost $3,398 for the six (6)-speed manual transmission, or $3,933 for the four (4)-speed electronically controlled CAGS ("Computer Aided Gear Selection") automatic transmission, on top of the Coupe base list price of $13,499.
Also included with the 1994 B4C police package was a 140-amp alternator. Chevrolet built 668 non-Z28 Coupes with "B4C" equipment for 1994.

They aren't all stripped down. Mine came with a power driver's seat and bose cd player. Only thing it doesn't have are t-tops.
Re: to Z or not to Z?
A B4C is basically a Z28 without badges. As far as the 140 amp alternator goes, all 1994+ cars had them, so no difference there. As far as rarity, it is just that there were fewer produced with that option code. It was not a performance enhancement-just a special service option code meant for law enforcement use.
Re: to Z or not to Z?
I find it interesting that there are two schools of thought on this subject... The people who have the B4C's and know they are special... and those who don't and INSIST that "it's no big deal"... I have seen this time and again. On the 67-72 chevy C10 site, someone will discover that they have a well optioned C10 ..and there are always those out there willing to try and steal their thunder! The cars may not be a "big deal" in the grand scheme of things, but at least allow someone to feel good about what they have.
It reminds me of a bucket of crabs: when one tries to climb out... there are always a few trying to pull 'em back in.

Re: to Z or not to Z?
B4C is a rare car, which makes it fun. They arent any different than the Z28s besides the badging and roof color on some years. I wasnt aware that they even made M6 B4Cs.
