Thumbs down WOW borla is screwing me over.

So i bought my car used, and it had a borla catback and jba shorty headers and y-pipe on it. My car is a 97, and for some stupid reason, the guy who i bought it from set it up like a >95 single cat setup. So my borla catback doesn't want to line up with the new hooker long tubes and ORY i just got. I need to get the last part of the borla, the last S tube that connect to the y-pipe that will fit a 96-97 dual cat setup. I called borla, and they won't sell ANYTHING seperate, unless I can prove my car was in an accident. What the hell!! So now I have to find someone who has the pipe I need, or get a new catback...

Most exhaust shops can fab one up.

Too bad I threw away the s-pipe that came with my Magnaflow kit, I would have given it to ya. I still don't see that as being a difficult task for a exhaust shop to handle.

Re: WOW borla is screwing me over.

I was gonna get one custom made, but that requires someone to have a mandrel bender, and I don't know of any local shops that have one, we looked a month ago when my friend was looking to get some piping bent for his intercooler.

I agree about Borla. I have never run into a company with less customer support than they offer.

Re: WOW borla is screwing me over.

I have had very good relations with Borla, they are sending me two replacement tubes because the steel flanges have rusted to pieces and now leak. I did have to provide my receipt as proof of purchase from 1997. They have completely bent over backwards for me and honored their 100,000 mile warranty no questions asked.

It does sound insane that you cant buy an individual part, even if the price is at MSRP. I sure dont agree with that.

Contact Harley Boye X247 at Borla and see if he can help you out, he is the one I have been working with.

Cool Sorry to hear their service has deteriorated

They were more than helpful getting me plates and additional hanging hardware on my setup which was on used car I bought years ago.

Re: WOW borla is screwing me over.

Havin one fabbed up also requires me to install the headers, and drive it over to the exhaust shop open headers, and that won't fly with long tubes and my stall . I'm gonna give that guy a call from borla and see if he'll help me out.

Re: WOW borla is screwing me over.

SLP sells a seperate S pipe. I believe its $75. A bit pricey... a shop would fab you up one a lot cheaper. Try posting in the WTB section for a S-pipe. I'm sure a few people with 96/97 cars have the S-pipes that came with their magnaflow catbacks.

Re: WOW borla is screwing me over.

You think the s-pipe is the same for the magnaflow, and would fit? I guess I don't see why it wouldn't.

Re: WOW borla is screwing me over.

This is what I found on slp's site.

slp s pipe

The problem with all of these is that they all use a clamp to hook up to my y-pipe, but the y-pipe is a slip fit.
