Is it worth it??67 Camaro ?

OK I am a long time ford guy but I have the opportunity to buy a 67 RS for $400. It is completely apart and needs quaters replaced dash and maybe some floor and cowl duct area. Comes with new quarters and parts but I don't know what is and isn't available.

Would this be a money pit and am I better off buying a complete car??
Thanks.

Yes it will be a money pit.
Yes you are better of buying a complete car
Everything is available, you can build these cars out of a catalog.

Rule of thumb, is +$30,000 to do a complete resto.
Bottom line is the car has to be worth more than the cost of the restoration, once it's done, or you loose money.

Is that price for outsourcing the work? I have done a ground up on a 70 cougar (restomod) stroke/bear brakes/tko 5spd etc.for less and parts were scarce and expensive.

Yes. And this is very general. The rarer the car, the more work that needs to be done, the more money.

IMHO, you could completely resto an old car for under $20k by doing most of the work yourself.
