Windows and stereo always have powerin LT1 car!

I have a 1995 z28. I have replaced the RAP module twice with known working units. the windows and radio have power all of the time. occasionally I will turn off the car, open and than close the door, the radio will temporarily turn off and back on after a few seconds. The car drains the battery to where it will not start after two days of being parked. I think it might be the ignition switch, however at this point my head is spinning. I will paypal $10 to whoever posts the working solution to my problem!!!!!!

Have you tried bypassing the RAP module altogether to see if the problems still occurs? Unplug the module, then jumper the brown, pink and dark blue wires together in the connector. If it was the ignition switch, the brown wire would be getting power when the switch was off. Have you tested the door jamb switches to see if they are working properly?

I will jump those wires together and give that a go. I assumed the door switches were working since the dome light turns off. still worth testing i assume

So, I removed the RAP module and verified nothing is getting fed another way. I than measured from the brown wire to ground with the key out of the car and measured 7.75 volts. I than went and measured across the posts at the battery and found it was already drained to 8.5 volts. Is this enough to isolate an ignition switch?

According to the schematic, there should be no voltage on the brown wire with the key off.

What year is your car? Up to 95, there is the RAP module described above. In 96/97, a body control module was added, that incorporates the RAP function.

Why not add a "Signature" with basic info about your car - year, model, engine, trans and any major mods. That way, people can give you more helpful answers

97 trans am lt1. ABS has been removed and the relay spot on the fuse block is gone (has a strange 12 bolt). The wires that run to the junction block next to the battery are all hot (I think they are suposed to be). I always have power to my radio, windows and light with the key out.

Mine is a 97 and I have the module that is located in the pocket next to the gas pedal but not the Module to the left of it the "express down module". When I umplug the RAP module in the pocket I lose power to the DS window only. Some are telling me that my RAP module is built into the BCM (in the PS kick panel)? Am I suposed to have the express down module next to the RAP module?
