Window Motor Speed

Hey guys, I'm getting ready to replace my passenger window motor via shoebox's website. Before I do, I was just wondering if anybody else could compare the speed of their window with mine to see how much difference there is. With the doors open...my driver window takes approx 6 seconds (6 mississippi) to go all the way up, and my passenger side takes about 9 seconds. The passenger one will not go all the way up while the door is closed do to the extra friction of the rubber seals. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks
Bill

When you remove the motor and tracks, check the rollers, they are not freely spinning. May need to clean them up and lube them a little. Not heavy grease.

Car off, accessories on....I guess I was just wanting to compare my 'good' motor to someone elses to see if thats still good or if it is wearing out too.

I got the door panel off....sprayed some wd-40 in the tracks and then wiped them down to see if that made any immediate change. Nothing. Now I have to go to work but tomorrow I'm gonna put in some grease on there but I don't know if that will help or not. When the car is on and the door is open it only takes about 4-5 seconds to go up. So I think the motor is fine, it's just too much tension from the rubber seal around the door panel and the door by the T-top. Maybe that rubber needs to be replaced, it's been an ongoing search for a long time to figure out if it was the motor or the rubber and this is the first time that I have opened the door panel. Still not sure what it is.

FWIW, My passenger side is about 50% slower than my driver, just like yours (6 Sec-9 Sec).

I just noticed the same thing today, does this mean my passenger side motor is on it`s way out?

Yes it means, if the rollers aren't correctly spinning freely outside of the tracks(removed from tracks and door), it will burn your motor just like it did mine.

Ok, I put grease on the tracks but I dont think it did anything. I'm ready to take the motor out except I dont have a new motor yet. So Im just going to leave it for now...do you think a new motor would fix the problem? I don't understand how to get the tracks out to fully inspect them, or the wheels out of the tracks to inspect them. It looks like the only way to do that is to remove the whole metal panel on the inside...
Thanks
Bill

P.S. When i remove the motor from the panel...since I will only have the holes where the rivets were..how do i bolt in the new motor? Does it go in the same holes?

wow.. 9 seconds?

I thought my passenger side was bad because it takes 6 seconds (car off)

My driver side however, I guess runs like a champ! 3.5 - 4 seconds!

Actually, I double chekced today and I'm about right there with you. You know how it is, when you're impatiently waiting for something (like your window to go up), it seems like forever

My pass window has been the same for the 4 months I've owned the car. I use the windows at least every other day and it hasn't gotten any slower. I heard some motors are just slow, not going out, just staying slow.

Yeah I hope my passenger side is just slow. My driver`s side goes right up but the passenger side takes a bit longer and doesn`t go all the way up unless I open the door (because of the resistance from the rubber seals.
