window motor problem

i just got a brand new motor. Went to put it in and nothing.. Jumped the motor out it works fine. Check the wires coming out the switch and they work fine. The wires at the connnector get power but it seems that it doesn reverse. The same wires have power and ground up and down.

Re: window motor problem

The window attaches to the regulator, that's the arms and roller guides, etc. It could be jammed or bent, or you didn't get the motor gear into the gear quadrant. With the window part way up you should be able to see how the motor fits onto the gear quadrant.

Re: window motor problem

sounds like you have a wire shorted. just follow the wires from the switch to the motor itself and look for two wires exposed and touching eachother. alot of times it will be inside of a wire group so be sure to take them apart and look at all the wires very closely. is it the drivers side or the pass side?
