Thumbs up Window Motor Circuit Mod

It was dead (really dead). I modded it. I love it. It rolls up in 4 seconds (car on or off).

Re: Window Motor Circuit Mod

So you did this to a dead motor and it worked again?

From what I have seen there are very few dead motors, its this thermal circuit that peters out.

Re: Window Motor Circuit Mod

From what I read it's a safety mechanism. I'm going to try this soon, if I can find someone with a soldering iron.

just buy one yourself, they're about 10 bucks and 2 or 3 bucks for the solder and I use it all the time even though I have no skill with electrical devices.

Re: Window Motor Circuit Mod

Correct the motor wasn't dead, it was the thermal circuit. It was so bad that I couldn't roll my window down a half inch before it quit.

Soldering is easy and I'm new at it. The hardest part was putting the cap back on, but that wasn't even that bad.

The circuit is for safety but in all honesty there are a lot of arguments that counter this point. I think its actually much safer now. At least now when it rolls someones fingers/head/feat up in it, it will roll down. Before it wouldn't, you'd have to wait 5 minutes.
