Window Fuse Special?
Window Fuse Special?
I noticed that one of my windows started getting slower and stopping only a year or less after changing motors, but when it stops I hear clicking from the fuse area. I go to look at it, and the fuse for the power windows is encased in metal and much thicker. I switched it out with a standard 30 amp, same rating as the stocker and it seems to work better. Can I keep this normal auto parts store fuse in there or do I need some special one?
It's called a breaker (so it can reset after it trips). You should not be pulling so many amps that it trips. Might need to replace that motor and/or check all your connections. If you end up keeping the fuse, you better keep a supply of them in the glove box.
I checked it again and it was a fluke, it's the same with that fuse.
Thanks shoebox. Maybe I'll try one of those already "fixed" motors, as I don't think I can do that modification myself
