I just bought an 02 Camaro SS, M6 with the 345 HP package, auburn, and just about every option available. My bro has a 94 Z28, M6 with LPE CAI, 160 stat, 1LE elbow, Jethot longtubes, and a cutout. Who do you think would win in a race, and by how much?

 

I think it would come down to being a drivers race. Do you feel you are better at shifting than he is? Is this also from a dig or from a roll?

 

We'll probably try both, seeing as one of us will be upset with the outcome of the first race, lol. Even though I think I am the better driver, I doubt our driving ability will play too much into the final outcome.

 

I think your SS is going to take the LT1....its a given,because ur brother doesnt have crazy mods done to his car. But he could have a chance. He might take you off the line, but the LS1 is going to walk from the LT1 once it starts revin out..
Talk all the smack you want on your brother, just dont be an idiot when ur driving it and you'll be happy with the results

 

most of the m6 cars with the package you have were dynoing 305-315hp at the wheels bone stock.

if he's lucky and has the 94 in good running order he is putting out about 300hp to the wheels.

taking into account the crazy top end of the LS1...

you should have no problem.

just keep it between the ditches!!!

 

Race and find out..... Let us know...A "friend" of mine thinks his 87 Stang would bet my Z...... I took him for a ride and pinned it in 2nd and it just about broke his neck.....He dosn't bother me anymore.......

 

all drivers being equal.. you will kill him..

most people with the 345hp kit were making well more than the above post stated.. I am bone stock and stripped and I make 320rwhp... the cars with the lid and exhaust were in the 325+ range..

all your brother has on his LT1 is exhaust... and ok.. intake.. just not a great one.. but ok..

his car from the factory was a 275 hp rated car.. on the dyno they were putting down about 240ish.. with his mods.. he will be lucky to see 280. to the rear..
so yes.. you have the race won easily..

(and yes I had an LT1 before my LS1..)

 

My car put down around to 270rwhp with just the few mods I have listed below. Hopefully with the Kook headers I'll be putting down 300 or near it. I guess LT1's vary quite a bit.

 

you also have valvetrain with the 1.6's along with some exhaust and intake..
280 is very possilble on yours.. remember california 1995 along with 1996-1997 Fbods had 2 cats and were rated at 285.. 10 hp more than the previous years..

 

Those 2 cats and what the 96-97 was rated at isn't relevant at all when discussing actual rear wheel power figures between the LT1 model years. I've seen a bone stock A4 95 formula dyno 268 rwhp and then seen a stock 97 WS6 M6 dyno 243. It varies period, doesn't matter the year.
