Who has a HARLAN shift light? Need some info!

I found this site from Harlans website. I got one of his shift lights about 2 years ago and installed on my car in a custom bracket that I CNC machined at my shop. So anyway now I am trying to put it in a different place but I had cut the wire real short. I want to get another wire to re-solder it to the board.

The wire it came with was black rubber with 3 conductors inside. I have been all over the planet and internet and I cannot find that wire ANYWHERE. I tried digikey, radio shack, and others. I like that wire because it was black (matches interior), it was small diamater (so it fit through the holes in the bracket) and it was flexible (wont break over time).

I have emailed this Harlan guy probably 5 times over the last few months and he just doesn't give a crap about customers or something apparently and hasn't ever emailed me back. I just want to know what brand of wire it is on the shift light. I know that I can try other wire, but I made my bracket to match the exact diamater wire he was using so I just want to know what kind of wire it was.

Before I cut it, I remember it said the brand name down the side. Does anyone have a Harlan shift light and can tell me what the writing on the wire says so I can contact the company and buy some?

Thanks for the alternate suggestion, but when I made the bracket I sized the hole so that wire fits perfectly - it was nice and smooth and round. Heat shrunk wires won't look as nice as a commercially made wire thats perfectly smooth. Also, I want to use the same wire to wire up a few other things in my car and I don't want to go buy a ton of heat-shrink and make my own wires. Also, it always looks like *** when I do taht because the shrink tightens around the wires and it doesnt look very finished/professional.

I have seen plenty of control wire but it's all gray and uses PVC jacketing. The only black rubber jacket wire I found was 18 gauge wire thats meant for power cords for tools or something. I want it much slimmer, like 22 gauge conductors so really wanna find the wire thats on the Harlan light when I bought it so i can replace it, work with my bracket, and use the wire to hook up a new gauge pod and other stuff in the car.

Thx

Try Mcmaster-carr or DElcity.
Plenty of high grade auto wire.

I have an extra Harlan lite or two in my basement. I'll take a look at one when I get home.

gboneus,

I tried mcmaster - all sorts of wire but no 3-conductor stuff that matches what is on the Harlan. Delcity same thing. Thanks for those links though - I will be using delcity in the future (never knew about them)

Case,

If you would check that and post what it says on the wire, you would be THE MAN! I have been searching forever. Hell, I almost BOUGHT another light I dont even need/want just to see what sort of wire it was!

Hmm I honestly dont know - but if you have a window switch I'd love to hear what the wire says on it, I could find the company and check their product line and get the specs on that wire an see if it would work for me.

If ya can check, I'd be very appreciateive!

Damn... well, unfortunately I was going to get like 30 feet to wire up the light, as well as the gauges that are exposed, and also sneak it to the bottle sensors in my trunk. I think he probably must use different wire on the shift light then because I definitely remember it saying something (and thinking "I should remember that cuz this wire is nice and I ougth to buy some!")

Thanks for checkin' for me buddy
