where is the best place to run it, and ive seen ppl say the exhaust melting their wires... how to avoid that?

Where is your cutout located? Over the axle or in the primary pipe? I would just say pull the seats and carpet, drill a small hole in the floor run it through that and silicone the hole so you won't have any leaks.

 

I don't like the ideaa of drilling a hole through the floorboard, so I used a razor blade and cut a slot through the little rubber drain hole found under each seat, you can't miss them, then just pull up the carpeting a little and slide it to where you want to run the switch. I have the DMH and hte included switch actually fit right into the lightbulb socket holder in the ashtray, no kind of work for me at all.
