Where to put Jack Stands?
Where to put Jack Stands?
I am going to put the car on stands for winter as I do not want my expensive (to me) Goodyear F1-GS-D3 to flat spot as some people have indicated to happen. I tried searching, and could not find an answer, so where do you put the four jack stands?
Two under the rear axle near suspension mounts and two at that spot behind front suspension and near to the headers where there is a flat piece of the unibody?
Is there any chance of damaging the car by supporting it on these points for so long? ie, is it worse to risk flat spot on tires even if fully inflated, or to risk plastic deformation in frame/axle?
Are any brand jack stands likely to be ok? I have a set of "Rally" brand stands that I got cheap from Walmart or somewhere, but now I do not know if I trust them. The box says they meet ANSI standards, but still. Are any jack stand, as long as the box isnt all in written in some foreign language or something, ok to use?

Re: Where to put Jack Stands?
Is there anywhere in particular under the front lower arm? Like under where the shock or spring mount? Or just anywhere that is good and flat? I have not looked at the underside of the control arm in a while and do not remember what it looks like.
What about the rear stands?
What about the rear stands?
Re: Where to put Jack Stands?
yeah i would say anywhere under the arm, closer to the wheel the better.
maybe put a piece of wood under it to evenly distribute weight a little better
