Where to jack
Where to jack
Where can I jack the car up and put two jack stands with an aftermarket 2 ton floor jack?
The manual drawing didn't do the trick for me.

Re: Where to jack
Always do it on the frame and everything first off. My buddy jacked his up on his body panel once and screwed that all up.
Next, I think there is a small "cut" in the panel that will show you where to jack on the frame. It should look like this somewhat \______/ except it will look flipped upside down for you. I don't know how to put a bar on top (no comp skills). So just imagine that upside down and you got it.
Really, anywhere on the frame is ok, just make sure it's close enough to the front of the car to help. And if you want, you can put the jackstands on the front swaybar (they have certain points to do it on, you'll probably notice) as I find it makes it easier to get to the oil pan, etc.
Good luck man. If all else fails, buy a Chilton/Haynes manual from the auto store which will come in handy later on if you plan to do more work.

Got pictures/drawings? I already made a small dent that is not too noticeable but I'm still a little paranoid on making another dent.
Re: Where to jack
Man, if I had my work's digital camera, I'd snap some pics for ya. But this might help anyways. The frame runs all the way back down the whole underside of the car. There's only 3 main components on the underside in terms of the body. You basically have your seats, etc. that you don't want to touch. Then the frame which is a couple inches in width that runs all the way down. Then the actual body panels.
So really, I can't help you anymore. Just go for the frame and if it helps, use a piece of wood between the jack and the frame. It distributes the weight evenly but isn't all that important. If you have a guy who knows cars near you, he'd be a big help.

Re: Where to jack
You may already know this, but AVOID putting any pressure on the tabs right behind the front wheel well. They hold the fender in, and when you jack them, they bend and the fender pops out, giving the car "gills". Please DO NOT ask me how I found this out.
