Angry Where to get new Alternator for LT1?

I called jegs and they want 300$ for a direct fit one. Since we have the "plug" for our alt. not just the 1 battery wire.

Looked around and couldn't find anyother except on ebay..

Anybody know where to get a new or better alt ... or maybe a 1-wire convertion kit?

Help please!

You could just go get it fixed... probably a lot cheaper. What's wrong with it exactly?

Re: Where to get new Alternator for LT1?

check out rockauto.com. I've bought loads of stuff from them for many different vehicles including the wifes 95 Caprice, (Water pump, Altenator, blower motor, front/ rear suspension). never had a problem with them. i lost the altenator at 103,000, the wifes got 199,000 on the Lt1 and she drives it 150 miles a day with one foot full down on either the gas or the brake...

I got a 140 amp direct replacement from Advance for $197.00 with a $60 core charge. So it ended up at $137.00. Give them a try before going with something with a brand name stamped on it and a huge price tag.
