Where do I start? Re doing the interior

Alright, got a 93, It was totalled back in march, got it fixed, and completely repainted. Its time to do the interior now, its completely trashed, been that way since I bought it. The AC has been leaking inside the car and has been running under the carpet and into the back seat so the carpet is good as gone, its stained any way. Headliner is stapled up, all the vinyl is scratched, seats are ripped. Want to replace it with all new, everything, I can go back to either stock or dont mind upgrading a couple years. Where do I start? Is it best to find a donor car/interior or where would I buy what is necessary? Whats the estimated price of replacing everything?

Check in the parts for sale forum for people parting out cars. Use the search function.

For price comparison sake.

I bought carpet for my '95 Camaro for about $300 and installed it myself. I got my seats recovered by a local shop for $600. The headliner shouldn't be too much.

Regarding upgrades, they changed the interior in '97, and it stayed that way until 2002. Personally, I like the newer interior.

The more ive been thinking ill probably stay with the 93-96 dash, to save alot of trouble and time and I dont mind the look. I was just looking for mostly "new" if thats even possible parts, like the door panels, all the vinyl trim. My interior is the gray, or "graphite" and definately would like to go to black.

Check out classicindustries.com. I ordered a headliner kit from them for 189...it's for a 95 t-top car and is a one piece replacement (foam over an abs plastic base with the matching (to my interior) medium grey fabric over that. It's on it's way, I can let you know if it's any good. The stock interior headliner uses a paperboard base under the foam...the plastic will last forever (or outlast the car anyway)...they have everything else you'll need for the interior as well (both original gm and repro parts). Downside is some of the stuff isn't cheap but as with everything else you get what you pay for. There's always ebay too.

The headliner shouldn't cost more than about $50 if you take it out and clean off the old liner and padding yourself. It's not that hard. Just take it to your local upholsterer

lots of people put in the 98-02 trans am door panels. THey are quite a bit nicer. So people do custom stuff that they make, others have a shop do it.

Read more in the "Appearence" section and you will find lots.
