Wheel sizing for my 1998 Z28
Wheel sizing for my 1998 Z28
I just bought a 1998 z28 and want to put some new tires and rims on it. the rims i want to put on it are 50 series ss396 rims, the offset on the stock rims is 55mm and 8 inches wide, and the offset on these new rims i want is 10mm and 10 inches wide . I want to keep my car sort of flush looking, but if its is a little stanced, thats ok.. just dont want a ton of my wheel sticking out.. also plan on putting 285/45/15 tires on. can someone help me with this issue, joined this forum just to ask this question

For a 10" wide wheel, you need at least 35mm (or even 40mm) offset to keep the tire under the rear fender. A 10mm offset will put the tire about 1" outside the fender in the rear. More than that in the front. Lots of rubbing on the inner fender liners.
These wheels have a 4.00" frontspace (projection from the hub). A 10mm offset 10" wheel has about a 5.11" frontspace.
