Re: whats wrong?

I had the same problem. Does it feel like a total dead spot for about +1500 to 2000 rpms whenever you step on it?

When I bought a new Air lid/ cotton filter AND cleaned the wires on my MAF, my dead spot was gone and it was all smooth acceleration from there on out.

BE CAREFUL!!! When and if you clean your MAF, take it completely off the car, and spray it with alcohol. Alcohol cleans it best (in my experience). I used cotton swabs and VERY VERY gentle rubbing (rolling more like). If one of those wires bends or breaks, you just bought a new MAF.

Re: whats wrong?

But it was only after I did both of those that the dead spot went away, and It would be impossible for me to single out either as the solution because I did both at the same time.

Re: whats wrong?

CRC QD Electronic Cleaner (it's a spray -AZone)

use that too clean your MAF, just spray it down, and let it air dry (doesn't take long at all) -- I've never heard of this harming the MAF and it wont damage it - if it happens to know something off, it was loose anyway.

you say your wires are really old (and plugs) then ask if you should change them - I think you answered your own question there

QD actually has a new "MAF sensor cleaner" out now, but it smells like the same stuff, so I just get the electronics cleaner, easier to find

Re: whats wrong?

hey, how much do you think it would cos to get my plugs switched for me.
ive got custom headers in there and it makes it nearly imppossible to change em, so id just rather pay to have it done.
