What years did they switch over to the digital odometer reading thingys?
Ok well this guy is telling me that he bought a 97 Formula an he has the mechanical Odometer meter thingy in it. Now i thought that the 97's have the digital odometers in them? Hes also told me some other bs stuff about his car that i have pointed out to him and im just trying to find out if hes lying about the year too. So what years did they use the digital odometer meter thingy?

It was mid 1997 to back Jon up. If you're in doubt of the year of the car post the VIN # on here and someone will be able to tell you. Also look at the build date and see if it was made late 96-early 97, you should be able to find this on the driver side door.

my 97 has mechanical.........sucks too because they don't make white face guage overlays for 97's with the mechanical odometer.

Thanks for the info everybody. Yesterday I picked up a '97 Z28 I bought and was a little concerned that it had a digital odometer. I drove a different '97 for eight years that had the mechanical version. Didn't know that they switched over mid-year. You learn something new every day.
Another six year old post too!!
