ok, i have 95 z. just had a mad z tune, was programmed for 3:42 gears, the strange part is the speedo is correct!! i cannot go past 60 in second gear or i will be bouncing off the rev limiter!! i thought i had 3:73 gears but i guess not! according to others it should be the same gearing in the tranny as the ls1, as i have 2 ls1's to compare to, both will do 75 in second, i cannot go past 60 in the lt1!!!!! what is going on here! could it be a transplanted tranny? im at a loss here!! please help me!!! what do i have here? not stock, i know that!, the speedo is confirmed as i have a really good friend that is a lake st. louis cop and he has shot me with radar and it is the same that i was reading on the speedo. did the 94-93 trannys have a different ratio? let me know!!!

 

Here I was thinking I was hard on my lil 6'er... Why would you want to go past 60 in second?

 

the m6 z28's are capable of 75 in second gear without hitting the revl imiter,, i was told that all m6/3:42 cars can do this, both ls1's i have can go 75 in second without even coming close the rev limiter, 5600-5700rpm or so, what is the deal with my 95?

 

and here it is my rev limiter is at 4,000 RPMS...

 

You said you had a transplanted trans. If it is a 93 trans it has a 2.07 second gear ratio. The 94 and later trans has a 1.78 second gear. That would be about 61 mph for the 93 and 71 mph for the 94 trans at 5700 rpm with 3.42 gears.
